Bear Mountain Hickory - 1 lb.
$6.00Price
Bolder than Apple and Oak, but less so than Mesquite. Hickory is definitely toward the stronger end of what I call the "classic" smoking woods. It's pretty multi-purpose. Works well with beef, pork and wild game. Some people like it for smoking cheese. About the only thing it's not commonly recommended for is seafood.
* Aside from their Oak and Alder pellets. ALL other Bear Mountain (as well as many other brands) products are "blends," with a 50% or more base of Oak or Alder. The company doesn't indicate which of those is used. But they tell me it's based on geography. I can't even get their Alder products locally here in Texas. I have to special order them. So I would assume that their blends that I have here have an Oak base.
